Background: As part of President Jim Ryan’s Great and Good Strategic Plan, UVA has committed to supporting the development of 1,000 – 1,500 affordable housing units on land in Charlottesville and Albemarle County using land owned by UVA or the UVA Foundation.

The UVA Strategic Investment Fund has dedicated $1.1 Million to cover consultant engagement, development and asset management advisory services, and legal and land transfer fees.

Speakers will provide status reports on the three projects. The Public Affairs Committee has provided several prompt questions for the speakers to address including financing challenges, regulatory roadblocks, existing tenants, timing, and the potential buyers for these units (students, UVA employees, prescreened housing waiting list, open market)

Registration: FREE - includes lunch. In-person participation option only. Overflow parking is at Food Lion. This session will be recorded.
